The McNees Knives PM (Performance Machined) line is a labor of love, and now we're excited to bring you Gen 2 of our ever-popular PM Mac 2 model.
Maintaining all the core elements that made the Gen 1 PM Mac 2 so popular, this updated version builds on the already exceptional fit and finish you've come to expect with a new and improved threaded standoff design, a milled clip area, US-made hardware with Delrin caged ceramic bearings and titanium clip and body screws, and a few other subtle changes.
PM Mac 2 Background
Jonathan McNees wanted to bring a more affordable line of knives to the market, but he would only do it if he could keep them made in the USA. It might not be the easiest or most profitable route, but it's an important part of the difference that you can feel every time you pick up a PM Mac 2.
The PM Mac 2 3.5" is an extremely pocket-friendly and ergonomic design. With lines that flow open or closed, it sports all the features you would expect from a full custom.
All outsourced work on the PM line of knives is done in the US, with a good portion handled at McNees' Alabama-based shop, including fitting locks, detents, and sharpening. As our capabilities expand, even more will be done in-house by Jonathan and his team.

By current standards I don't think I can say I'm a collector, but I own a fair amount of knives and some of them are from respected makers. The GEN 2 Mac 2 is an incredible piece. The size is just so spot on...I prefer larger folders myself but own a few on the smaller side (E.g. Benchmade Mini Osborne) and the Mac 2 is the perfect happy medium. All the details reflect Jonathan and his team's dedication to their craft...from the aesthetics of the finishes to the function as demonstrated through the satisfaction from an effortless reverse flick. It's always a great feeling when you have gotten your money's worth, but to acquire a beautiful piece of workmanship from someone you feel like you have a personal relationship with because Jonathan is interactive on social platforms just makes it that much more fulfilling as a purchase. Combined with American production and a very passionate focus on American materials makes this worth all the days I spent watching the website for drops. Once you finally get yours, you'll understand.

Just like my other Mac 2s, the tanto is precision machined perfection. Nothing feels like a McNees knife with the combination of rock solid and buttery smooth. Gotta catch ‘em all!
