Blade Show Atlanta's 2024 American-Made Fixed Blade of the Year®

Our McNees Ridge Runner Fixed Blade might just be the last knife you need (or want) to use for all your hunting and outdoor expeditions!

Designed by Jonathan McNees, a former Marine, lifelong hunter, and outdoorsman who got his start making knives in 2008, the Ridge Runner is purpose-built to tackle the toughest and grittiest conditions you can throw at it.

Featuring a robust fixed blade with a high and thin flat grind, it slices like a champ. And made from .135" CPM 3V steel, it's tough enough to take on all the hard work you need to get done.

The elegantly contoured handles have been carefully crafted to avoid hot spots while providing maximum grip, and they can be swapped out in minutes if you are looking to customize with other Ridge Runner handle colors or materials.

An included Kydex sheath offers exceptional retention and is set up with a loop for belt carry and slots for rigging to web gear. A drain hole on the bottom of the sheath helps prevent moisture build-up inside.

And to top it all off, the whole package is Made in the USA.

Truly the BEST EDC fixed blade to date

I purchased this knife in March when it was released and have carried it daily for several months. Out of the box, the knife was incredibly sharp. I particularly enjoy its ergonomic feel in my hand, although there are some noticeable rough edges with the G10 material. During extended periods of use, such as chopping wood, the edge dulled after a few days, which is typical for 3V steel. However, a good stropping session brought it back to hair-shaving sharpness.

I found the belt loop to be unsatisfactory, but like any knife enthusiast, I customized it to suit my preferences by swapping it out for an Ulti-Clip, which has proven to be a significant improvement for me. Overall, despite some initial adjustments needed, I've been very pleased with its performance. 9/10

Ridge runner is my new garage/shop knife

This won't be the most outdoor use, review, but more as my around the house/shop/garage knife, super utility use! Used it for several hrs today and 1/2 day at work & I couldn't be happier, its sharp, solid, comfortable. Good grip for my mitts ✋️ The sheath has really nice retention, adjustable so, if you prefer loose or snug set it & it hold how you like. The design & fit works well for me. Glam shot below 🙂

Not as good as the folders

I love my McNees folders. I have a few.
This fixed blade leaves me a bit perplexed however.
It's a nice design and well ground, but the details are lacking at this price point: 1. the sheath is really terrible, mine at least: the fit is too tight around the flats of the blade (if sands fets in there is gonna scratch the hell out of it) but has no retention around the heel; the (cheap) clip is 'stuck on there' with, seemingly, random bits of hardware; 2. the handle is 'unfinished': rough texture, and that's ok for a 'rustic' knife, but then it does have sharp edges around the screws that make bad hotspots during use; unclear what the flat cuts on the handle are trying to achive; 3. a blasted (then stonewashed) finish on 3V: it picked up corrosion on first use; sure can be avoided with good care, but the finish does not help.
Overall, a nice blade design that was rushed to pruduction it feels like. There are better small production knives made in USA at 2/3 the price.
Will keep buying McNees, but this one needs a V2.

Hi Max,
We hate to hear that you are unhappy with your Ridge Runner. The sheath is made to have adjustable tension. It is also made to keep the knife secure and there is a drainage hole in the bottom so it can be washed out. 3V will rust if you do not take proper care of it - we offer a satin finish as well. Different people have different hands, but 99% of the people who have handled them have given great feedback for the way they feel.
