Blade Show Atlanta's 2024 American-Made Fixed Blade of the Year®

Our McNees Ridge Runner Fixed Blade might just be the last knife you need (or want) to use for all your hunting and outdoor expeditions!

Designed by Jonathan McNees, a former Marine, lifelong hunter, and outdoorsman who got his start making knives in 2008, the Ridge Runner is purpose-built to tackle the toughest and grittiest conditions you can throw at it.

Featuring a robust fixed blade with a high and thin flat grind, it slices like a champ. And made from .135" CPM 3V steel, it's tough enough to take on all the hard work you need to get done.

The elegantly contoured handles have been carefully crafted to avoid hot spots while providing maximum grip, and they can be swapped out in minutes if you are looking to customize with other Ridge Runner handle colors or materials.

An included Kydex sheath offers exceptional retention and is set up with a loop for belt carry and slots for rigging to web gear. A drain hole on the bottom of the sheath helps prevent moisture build-up inside.

And to top it all off, the whole package is Made in the USA.

The Perfect Drop Point Hunter

I don’t routinely take the time to write product reviews but considering how outstanding my McNee’s Ridge Runner is, I decided to make an exception. I was able to secure the O.D. Green Micarta version of this drop point hunter from Knife Center before they sold out, and I’m really glad I did. The CPM-3V blade was sharp out of the box, but I couldn’t resist making a few passes on a fine ceramic stick then 10 reverse passes per side on a horsehide leather strop. My my my the word “sharp” doesn’t do the edge justice now. It cuts everything with ease and the blade design, for my primary uses of hunting and camping, is ideal. I have a medium size hand and the grip is ergonomically perfect for me. The knife feels excellent in the hand, with good grip retention and no hot spots, even with heavy use. This is the best, most perfectly executed hunting/camping knife I’ve ever owned. I think Jonathan McNees is doing outstanding work and 99% of the hunters I know would find this knife a great choice for field dressing, quartering, skinning and boning out both medium and large game. It’s also outstanding as a camp knife. Did I mention the kydex sheath is also top notch? Buy one of these. I think it’s the best knife in its price range. Luther F.

Great knife

The knife itself is great. The sheath has a little play inside so the knife doesn’t seat correctly sometimes when slid into the sheath.

"That's A Good Lookin' Knife" - My Father-In-Law

In all seriousness though, this knife looks good and cuts better. Size is big enough for big tasks and small enough for casual ones and a comfortable carry. feels real nice in the hand too and the finish seems to be doing a good job dissuading corrosion. 5/5 would recommend.

This is the first knife 🔪 I have got that is hard made. It's bad ass. Feels great in the hands. Made to last. Just the right size to have. Can see that it's bilt with pride.

Truly the BEST EDC fixed blade to date

I purchased this knife in March when it was released and have carried it daily for several months. Out of the box, the knife was incredibly sharp. I particularly enjoy its ergonomic feel in my hand, although there are some noticeable rough edges with the G10 material. During extended periods of use, such as chopping wood, the edge dulled after a few days, which is typical for 3V steel. However, a good stropping session brought it back to hair-shaving sharpness.

I found the belt loop to be unsatisfactory, but like any knife enthusiast, I customized it to suit my preferences by swapping it out for an Ulti-Clip, which has proven to be a significant improvement for me. Overall, despite some initial adjustments needed, I've been very pleased with its performance. 9/10
